HLTA Opportunities Across Gloucestershire
Are you a Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next role?
At Class People, we partner with schools across Gloucestershire who rely on experienced, confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to strengthen teaching provision and ensure pupils receive high-quality support every day. Whether you’re looking for flexible supply work, long-term roles, or the next step in your school-based career, we’d be pleased to support you.
What HLTAs Do in Our Schools
Schools turn to Class People when they need HLTAs who can step in with confidence and bring structure, clarity and warmth to the classroom. Typical responsibilities include:
-
Leading whole-class learning when required
-
Delivering small-group or targeted interventions
-
Supporting teachers with planning and preparation
-
Adapting activities for pupils with varying needs and abilities
-
Helping maintain positive behaviour and consistent routines
-
Providing pastoral support and contributing to the wider school environment
We work with mainstream settings, SEND schools, nurture hubs and alternative provisions — each offering different opportunities for you to use your strengths.
What We’re Looking For
We’d like to hear from HLTAs who:
-
Hold Level 4 HLTA status or have substantial experience working at HLTA level
-
Are comfortable delivering learning and managing the classroom independently
-
Have a strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding and inclusive practice
-
Communicate clearly and build positive relationships with pupils and staff
-
Bring reliability, initiative and a calm, supportive presence
If you’re newly qualified as an HLTA or have been working at HLTA level without formal accreditation, we are still keen to speak with you.
