Class People are working with a number of schools across Gloucestershire that are seeking compassionate and skilled Play Therapists to support children’s emotional wellbeing and development.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the power of play as a therapeutic tool and is passionate about helping children work through social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. You’ll be supporting pupils who may be experiencing anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, or other barriers to learning, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing

Providing individual or small-group play therapy sessions in a school setting.

Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, confidence building, and self-expression.

Working closely with SENCOs, pastoral leads, and teachers to identify and support pupil needs.

Maintaining clear, confidential records and contributing to support plans where appropriate.

Creating a safe, trusting environment where children feel understood and able to explore their emotions.
What We’re Looking For

A qualified Play Therapist (PTUK/PTA accredited or equivalent).

Experience supporting children with social, emotional, or mental health needs.

A calm, child-centred approach with the ability to build secure and positive relationships.

Confidence using therapeutic play techniques within a school environment.

A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one with our support.
