SEN Teacher Opportunities Across Gloucestershire

Supporting schools with dedicated and compassionate specialist teachers

At Class People, we work closely with a wide range of mainstream schools, special schools, nurture bases and alternative provisions across Gloucestershire. These settings often look to us for exceptional SEN Teachers who can bring patience, structure and creativity to pupils who benefit from a more personalised approach to learning.

If you’re an SEN Teacher looking for your next role — whether flexible, long-term or permanent — we’re here to support you.

The Role of an SEN Teacher

Our partner schools value SEN Teachers who can create calm, purposeful learning environments where pupils feel safe, understood and motivated. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Delivering tailored lessons that meet a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties

  • Working closely with TAs, therapists and wider support teams

  • Implementing EHCP targets and creating meaningful progress plans

  • Using adaptive teaching strategies and alternative communication methods

  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour management and wellbeing

  • Building trust with pupils through consistency, empathy and clear boundaries

  • Contributing to safeguarding and the wider culture of the school

Every setting is different, and we aim to place you where your strengths can truly make an impact.

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with SEN Teachers who:

  • Are qualified teachers (QTS or other recognised status)

  • Have experience teaching pupils with additional needs

  • Use creative, personalised approaches to engage learners

  • Communicate confidently and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Bring patience, resilience and a belief that every child can make progress

  • Are open to flexible supply teaching, long-term positions or permanent roles

If you’re an ECT with SEN experience, or an experienced teacher transitioning into SEN, we welcome your application.
