Location: Portishead, North Somerset
Salary: Paid to scale (M1–M6): £162.31 – £261.17 per day
Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover (September 2025 – July 2026)
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role:

Class People are delighted to be supporting a lovely two-form entry primary school in Portishead seeking a Year 2 Teacher to cover maternity leave from September 2025 through the end of the academic year.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and engaging teacher who can inspire young learners, foster a love of learning, and build confidence as pupils prepare for KS2.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a Year 2 class
• Carry out ongoing formative and summative assessment
• Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 2 teacher and wider team
• Maintain a warm, structured and positive learning environment
• Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and school life

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching KS1, preferably Year 2
• Confident in teaching KS1 pupils
• Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply
• Is enthusiastic, organised, and a team player
