Book Donation and Volunteering

For Terms three and four Class People have been focusing our CSR on the written word and literature. We have been busy organising two Initiatives based around national awareness days, the first was based around national story telling week on the 26th January and student volunteering week which was on the 11th February. For this we organised with local schools around Bristol and Cheltenham to get our consultants in to volunteer and read stories with the children. This began when Naomi Howells visited Gloucester Academy to listen and help a class with their reading lessons, following from this Madeleine Mann and Eleanor Pay read at schools in Bristol and Robert Mills, Sarah Williams and Becky Oram read at schools around Gloucestershire. In total Class people Consultants volunteered 10 hours to local schools.

Following on from this we then organised a book donation drive in the reception on our head office in Eagle Tower, Cheltenham. This came after international book giving day on the 14th February. As you can see below we had an amazing turn out, receiving over a hundred books, these were then packaged and arranged to be dropped at charities and schools around Gloucestershire. We first dropped books to The James Hopkins Trust, followed by The Pied Piper Appeal, then we sent some over to Berkeley Primary and The Cooperative Childcare Cam in Dursley finally getting the remaining books to The Spring Centre and Oxfam. All in all we were able to help four charities, one primary school and a nursery.
