Job Title: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Stroud, Gloucestershire (including Nailsworth, Stonehouse, Minchinhampton, Dursley and surrounding areas)
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full time, Part time, Supply

Are you an HLTA with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? I’m currently working with schools in Stroud and nearby areas such as Nailsworth, Stonehouse, Minchinhampton and Dursley who are looking for enthusiastic and caring SEN HLTAs to join their teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you enjoy making a difference in the classroom and want a role where every day feels rewarding. You’ll be supporting pupils who need that extra bit of help to thrive, working alongside teachers and other support staff to make sure all children can access learning and feel included.

What you’ll be doing:

• Delivering planned lessons and interventions under the guidance of teaching staff

• Working one to one and in small groups with pupils with additional needs

• Supporting children with SEND such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties

• Helping to plan and prepare engaging activities that meet different needs

• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging pupils’ social and emotional development

• Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families

What I’m looking for:

• HLTA status or equivalent school-based experience

• A background in working with children with special needs (mainstream or specialist)

• Great communication and teamwork skills

• A caring, patient, and resilient approach

• A good understanding of safeguarding (training can be provided)

• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different schools across Stroud and the surrounding towns
