Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Gloucestershire

Class People are working with schools across Gloucestershire to recruit experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to provide high-quality classroom and intervention support.

This role is ideal for an HLTA who is comfortable leading learning, supporting teachers with planning and delivery, and stepping in to maintain consistency when needed.

The Role

As an HLTA, you may:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

• Lead small-group and targeted interventions

• Support pupils with SEND and varying learning needs

• Assist with lesson planning, preparation and assessment

• Work closely with teachers and senior staff to support pupil progress

• Help maintain a structured, positive and inclusive learning environment

Roles are available across primary and secondary settings on a supply, short-term or longer-term basis.

• Hold HLTA status or have significant experience in a similar role

• Are confident leading learning and managing classrooms

• Adapt well to different school environments

• Communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team

• Are reliable, organised and proactive
