Pay: £99.43-£120.00 per day Job Description: Learning Mentor/ Teaching Assistant Salary: £19,000-£21,000 (Depending on experience and qualifications) Hours: Full-time or Part-time - Permanent or Temporary Location: Brislington We are recruiting Learning Mentors / Teaching Assistants to join a well-established SEMH Alternative Provision based in Brislington, Bristol. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and who thrive in a relationship-led, non-mainstream environment. The provision is based on a large, unique site located at the former Bristol Rovers Training Ground, offering an inspiring and practical learning environment that includes: · Dedicated Learning Centres · Access to 5 large floodlit football pitches · Construction Centre · Hair & Beauty Salon · Arts & Craft Centre · Purpose-built Meeting Spaces This diverse environment enables learning to be delivered in creative, practical and highly engaging ways, supporting both academic and personal development. Many may have experienced: · Poor or non-attendance · Disengagement from mainstream education · Persistent behavioural challenges resulting in suspensions · Permanent exclusion · Periods of elective home education · Unmet Special Educational Needs · An Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) About You: · Experience working with challenging behaviour and/or SEMH needs is essential · Experience within education, alternative provision, youth work or care settings is highly desirable · Calm, patient and resilient with a relational approach · Confident supporting young people who may be disengaged from learning · A team player with strong communication skills · Applicants do not need to be qualified teachers · The provision is open to supporting unqualified applicants with strong experience, including those who may wish to progress towards a teaching qualification in the future.
