SEN/Teaching assistant

 

Class People are working with a number of welcoming primary and secondary schools in the Stroud area who are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams.

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children’s learning — helping them build confidence, develop skills, and enjoy their time in the classroom. You’ll work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide 1:1 or small group support, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about education, whether you’re an experienced TA, a recent graduate considering teaching, or simply someone who loves working with young people.

Your Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in preparing and delivering lessons.

• Work with pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis to reinforce learning.

• Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive relationships.

• Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

• Support children with additional learning needs where required.

• Contribute to the overall wellbeing and progress of pupils.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with children (school, childcare, or voluntary).

• A caring, patient, and proactive attitude.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Flexibility and a genuine enthusiasm for education.

• A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
