Head of SEN & SENCO
Alternate Provision | EHCP & Teaching Lead
Location: Gloucester (Outskirts)
Salary: £32,000 – £42,000 DOE
Contract: Full-time | Term-time + 5 days
Start: ASAP (subject to safer recruitment checks)

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced SEN teacher to lead education within a small, specialist alternate provision supporting children and young people with EHCPs who are not currently accessing school (approx. ages 8–25).
This role combines direct teaching, EHCP leadership and team oversight, ensuring high-quality, personalised education in a calm, therapeutic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted teaching to small groups and 1:1 pupils
- Plan and assess bespoke programmes aligned to EHCP outcomes
- Lead EHCP delivery, reviews and reporting
- Attend multi-agency meetings
- Lead and support TAs and HCAs
- Monitor quality, progress and provision
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong SEN experience, including pupils unable to access school
- Confident in EHCP processes and outcome-led provision
- Calm, adaptable and confident in non-traditional settings
- Experience in alternative provision, PRU or special settings desirable
- SENCO experience desirable but not essential
