1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Midsomer Norton- Reception

Class People are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming and supportive school in Midsomer Norton. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey by providing tailored, one-to-one support.

The Role:

• Provide individualised support to a pupil with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement learning plans
• Support the child’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development
• Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the pupil’s needs
• Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties)
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
• Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
