Part-Time SENCO – School near Bath

Class People are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school near Bath to recruit a part-time SENCO.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SENCO, or a qualified teacher with SEND leadership experience, who is looking for a flexible, part-time role within a supportive school community.

The Role

As SENCO, you will take strategic responsibility for the coordination and development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring that all pupils with additional needs are fully supported to thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice

  • Identifying, assessing, and reviewing pupils with SEND

  • Coordinating and contributing to EHCP processes

  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and external agencies

  • Maintaining accurate SEND records and reporting to senior leaders and governors

  • Supporting staff with guidance and training to promote inclusive practice

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to work towards it)

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice

  • Is organised, approachable, and passionate about inclusive education

  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
