Class People are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Yate on a maternity cover starting in May. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers seeking Upper KS2 roles within a welcoming and supportive school community.

If you’re an experienced teacher who enjoys the challenge and reward of teaching Year 6, supporting pupils through their final year of primary school, this could be the perfect role for you.

Start Date: May – until the end of the academic year
Pay Rate: Paid to M Scale – £168.80 to £271 per day

About You

We are looking for a teacher who is:

• Experienced in Upper KS2, ideally Year 6

• Confident delivering engaging and challenging lessons

• Comfortable taking on full teaching responsibilities

• Passionate about maintaining high standards and pupil progress

• Looking for a stable, long-term classroom role

What You Need to Join the Class People Team

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status in England)

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

• Deliver creative and engaging Year 6 lessons

• Plan, prepare and assess in line with the national curriculum

• Maintain strong behaviour management and a positive classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and the wider school community
