About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
Roles may involve:
- 1:1 SEN support
- Small group intervention work
- General classroom assistance within mainstream and specialist settings
You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored SEN support within the classroom
- Support pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs
- Assist with classroom activities and lesson delivery
- Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff

What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people
- SEN experience is desirable but not essential
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
