A Class Evening at the Bristol Education Awards 2017
A Class Evening at the Bristol Education Awards 2017
Education leaders from in and around Bristol came together on Tuesday night for the Bristol Post Education Awards, celebrating the best of the region?s educators.
We were delighted to be Table Centre sponsors at the very first Bristol Education Awards, particularly as we have a considerable number of practitioners on our books, from Early Years and Primary to Secondary and SEN, who do excellent work in and around Bristol. We believe that a good education can change the future, and as Bristol is a thriving city with excellent learning opportunities for all ages it will come as no surprise that we would show our support to the profession.
St Bede's Catholic College sang a beautiful rendition of 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' from The Lion King - you can watch the video here.
The evening was extremely inspiring and it was fantastic to see so many teachers and leaders within the industry be recognised for all of their hard work.
Introduced to the stage by stand-up comedian and presenter of the evening Joel Dommett, our CEO Lynis presented the award for Primary Teacher of the Year to Jackie Randall, who has had an incredible 30 year career at Colston?s Primary School in Bristol.
To see teachers like Jackie be awarded for their outstanding efforts makes our job at Class People worthwhile. We will continue to offer ongoing support to the best of Bristol?s education, and we hope to work with more of Bristol?s leading educators in the near future.
Class People CEO Lynis Bassett, Operations Manager Naomi Howells and Branch Manager Madeleine Heath were joined by two of our Bristol teachers on the evening.
Other winners of the evening were:
SEN Teacher of the Year - Steve Hobden, Venturers' Academy
Primary Headteacher of the Year - Bruce Dale, Mendip Green Primary School
Secondary Headteacher of the Year - Catriona Mangham, Fairfield High School
Secondary Teacher of the Year - Deborah Morgan, Clevedon School
Teaching Assistants of the Year - Carly Winkworth, Stoke Park Primary and Wendy Wright, Fairfield High School
Education and Business Partnership - Fairfield High School
Lifetime Achievement Award - Catherine Hughes, St Bede's Catholic College
A huge congratulations to all of the finalists and winners - who are all doing an amazing job!
This was a great opportunity for us to get involved as we ourselves have so much to thank our teachers for. As a business and as teachers, we recognise the importance of celebrating all professionals who make positive contributions within the education field, supporting both the teacher and school in their daily work endeavours.
