About the Role
We're looking for an inspirational Functional Skills Tutor to join our specialist education team, delivering engaging programmes in Maths, English and Digital Skills to young people with a wide range of learning differences, disabilities and additional support needs.
You'll be passionate about helping learners develop the confidence, independence and practical skills they need for adult life. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver creative, person-centred learning that enables every student to achieve meaningful and ambitious outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills sessions in Maths, English and Digital Skills.
- Create engaging, inclusive and personalised learning experiences.
- Assess learners' starting points and develop individual learning plans.
- Track, monitor and record student progress in line with professional standards.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning styles and additional needs.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff and wider professionals to maximise student outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with students, families and external partners.
- Support learners to develop the knowledge, confidence and independence needed for adulthood.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience delivering Maths, English and/or Digital Functional Skills.
- Experience supporting young people with additional learning needs, disabilities or complex support requirements.
- A person-centred approach to teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity, flexibility and a proactive attitude.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
