This safeguarding position is ideal for an experienced pastoral, welfare, attendance, or safeguarding professional looking for a rewarding interim role within a supportive school environment.

We are working closely with a welcoming secondary school in Bristol seeking a dedicated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead who can support the school's safeguarding provision and promote the welfare of all students. The successful candidate will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), school staff, external agencies, students, and families to ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, recorded, and managed effectively.

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead Job Responsibilities

As a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in Bristol, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead with all safeguarding and child protection matters

  • Managing and responding to safeguarding concerns in line with school policies and statutory guidance

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential safeguarding records

  • Liaising with external agencies, including Social Care, Early Help, Health Services, and the Police

  • Attending safeguarding meetings, child protection conferences, and multi-agency meetings

  • Monitoring vulnerable students and providing appropriate support and intervention

  • Supporting staff with safeguarding advice, guidance, and best practice

  • Promoting student welfare, attendance, wellbeing, and positive engagement within school

  • Contributing to safeguarding training and awareness across the school community

Requirements – Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead Jobs Bristol
