Reception Teacher – Maternity Cover in Gloucester

Class People are looking for a passionate and experienced Reception Teacher to take on a long-term maternity cover position at a primary school in Gloucester.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who loves working in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and enjoys creating a nurturing, engaging and stimulating environment where young children can develop their confidence, independence and love of learning.

The role will involve taking full responsibility for a Reception class, including planning, teaching, assessment and working closely with the wider EYFS team.

About the Role

As the Reception Teacher, you will:

• Take full teaching responsibility for a Reception class
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities
• Provide a stimulating and nurturing EYFS learning environment
• Support children's development across all areas of the EYFS curriculum
• Develop strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
• Monitor and assess children's progress
• Adapt teaching to meet individual needs
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other members of the EYFS team
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and development

• Experienced and confident teaching Reception
• Passionate about Early Years education
• Creative, enthusiastic and nurturing
• Confident with planning and delivering engaging EYFS provision
• Strong in classroom and behaviour management
• Able to build positive relationships with young children
• Committed to supporting every child's individual development

QTS is required, along with recent experience working within a primary or EYFS setting.

ECTs with strong Reception/EYFS experience are also welcome to apply.
