SEN / SEMH Teacher – Alternative Provision
Location: Gloucestershire – Gloucester, Cheltenham, Stroud & surrounding areas
Pay: £150–£271 per day, depending on experience
Start: ASAP
Contract: Daily supply, short-term and long-term
Class People are currently recruiting SEN and SEMH Teachers for Alternative Provision and specialist settings across Gloucestershire.
We're looking for teachers who are confident working with young people who may have experienced barriers to learning within mainstream education.
You may have experience working with:
- SEMH
- Behavioural needs
- Autism
- ADHD
- Social and emotional needs
- Challenging behaviour
- School refusal / disengagement
- Alternative Provision
- PRUs
- Small-group or 1:1 teaching
The focus is on building positive relationships, creating a calm learning environment and helping pupils re-engage with education.
We are looking for teachers who:
- Have QTS or relevant teaching experience
- Are confident managing challenging behaviour
- Can build strong relationships with young people
- Are adaptable and resilient
- Can differentiate learning effectively
- Have a calm and consistent approach
- Are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
Previous experience in SEN, SEMH, AP or PRU settings is desirable, but mainstream teachers with strong behaviour-management skills are also encouraged to apply.
