The role

As an SEN Teacher / Tutor, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, accessible and personalised lessons

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN, SEND and additional needs

  • Adapt teaching to meet individual abilities, learning styles and EHCP outcomes

  • Create a calm, safe and encouraging learning environment

  • Build strong and trusted relationships with pupils

  • Support confidence, independence and personal development

  • Monitor progress and contribute to individual learning plans

  • Work closely with teaching assistants, families and wider professionals

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pastoral care

What we’re looking for

We would particularly love to hear from teachers with experience in:

  • Special Educational Needs / SEND

  • SEMH

  • Autism / ASC

  • Complex and additional needs

  • Alternative provision

  • Specialist education

  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs

  • Differentiated and personalised teaching

You may currently be working as an:

  • SEN Teacher

  • SEND Teacher

  • Special Needs Teacher

  • SEMH Teacher

  • Autism Teacher

  • SEN Tutor

  • Alternative Provision Teacher

  • Specialist Teacher

What you’ll need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching children or young people

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding

  • Confidence adapting lessons for different learning needs

  • A calm, patient and compassionate approach

  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils who may require a more individualised approach to education

Salary & benefits

  • Main Pay Scale: £34,069–£46,940 (M1–M6)
