About the Role

Class People are seeking confident and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support schools across Gloucester. This role is ideal for experienced support staff who are ready to take on greater responsibility within the classroom, including leading learning activities and covering lessons in the absence of a teacher.

You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning, supporting pupil progress, and contributing to a positive and structured classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons and lead whole-class learning when required
Support teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups
Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and close gaps
Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment activities
Promote positive behaviour and engagement in line with school policies
Collaborate with teaching staff to support pupil progress and attainment

Candidate Profile

HLTA status or significant experience in a similar role
Confident leading a class and managing classroom behaviour
Strong understanding of the UK curriculum
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting schools
