Class People are currently recruiting for a Personal Learning Coordinator & Tutor on behalf of a specialist education provider in Hereford & Worcester. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated educator to support young people with complex learning difficulties and disabilities (CLDD), including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and multi-sensory impairments.

This rewarding position is ideal for an experienced teacher who is committed to delivering personalised learning programmes that enable students to develop independence, confidence, communication skills, and essential life skills. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure learners achieve meaningful educational outcomes and are well prepared for adulthood.

Personal Learning Coordinator & Tutor Responsibilities

As a Personal Learning Coordinator & Tutor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, personalised learning programmes for small groups of learners with complex needs
  • Designing creative and inclusive lessons tailored to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • Coordinating learning programmes and monitoring student progress using the RARPA framework
  • Leading EHCP reviews and contributing to transition planning
  • Working collaboratively with therapists, support staff, families, and external professionals
  • Providing pastoral support while promoting independence, confidence, and personal development
  • Maintaining accurate student records and tracking progress towards learning outcomes
  • Contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the provision
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students

Requirements

To apply for this Personal Learning Coordinator & Tutor role, you should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Level 5 Diploma, or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience planning and delivering learning programmes for learners with additional needs
  • Experience supporting young people with Autism, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities
  • Strong organisational, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • The ability to assess, monitor, and record learner progress effectively
  • Excellent ICT skills and the ability to produce accurate reports
  • A compassionate, proactive, and innovative approach to teaching
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites where required
