Experienced Year 6 Teacher Wanted in Gloucester

Class People are looking for an experienced Year 6 Teacher in Gloucester to support a primary school with high-quality teaching and learning across the final year of Key Stage 2.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and committed teacher who understands the demands of Year 6 and can help pupils prepare for their transition to secondary school.

We're particularly interested in teachers with experience of SATs preparation, assessment and curriculum delivery, alongside the ability to create a positive classroom environment where pupils feel supported, challenged and motivated to succeed.

About the Role

As the Year 6 Teacher, you will:

• Take full teaching responsibility for a Year 6 class

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum

• Prepare pupils for their end-of-Key-Stage-2 SATs

• Use assessment to identify learning gaps and support pupil progress

• Differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs

• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement

• Support pupils' confidence, resilience and independence

• Prepare pupils for a successful transition to secondary school

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and school leadership

We're looking for someone who can balance strong academic expectations with an understanding of the pastoral needs of Year 6 pupils.

• An experienced primary teacher with confidence teaching Year 6

• Knowledgeable about KS2 SATs preparation and assessment

• Confident with planning, marking and tracking pupil progress

• Strong in classroom and behaviour management

• Able to adapt teaching to support pupils of different abilities

• Organised, proactive and committed to high standards

• A positive team player who builds strong relationships with pupils and colleagues

QTS is required, alongside recent primary teaching experience. Previous Year 6 experience is essential for this opportunity.
