Looking for a Key Stage 2 SEN Teaching Assistant Role?
Class People are currently recruiting dedicated and supportive Key Stage 2 SEN Teaching Assistants to work within primary schools across Gloucestershire.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive within the classroom. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, supporting pupil development, and creating a calm and engaging learning environment.
About the Role
As a KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within Key Stage 2 who require additional learning or emotional support. You may work on a 1:1 basis, within small intervention groups, or alongside the class teacher to provide wider classroom assistance.
You will play an important role in helping pupils build confidence, develop independence, and engage positively with their education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored SEN support within Key Stage 2 classrooms
- Support pupils with needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions
- Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and learning activities
- Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Candidate Profile
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within primary education or SEN
- A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
- Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
