Nursery Cook – Speedwell, Bristol

Location: Speedwell, Bristol, BS5 7RW
Salary: £13.00 per hour
Hours: 25–30 hours per week
Days: Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and organised Nursery Cook to join a welcoming Early Years setting in Speedwell, Bristol.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working as a Nursery Cook, School Cook, Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Chef who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and wants a rewarding role within a childcare environment.

The Role

As Nursery Cook, you will be responsible for preparing healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children within the nursery, while maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, safety and kitchen organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, balanced meals for children
• Catering for allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
• Managing food storage and stock appropriately
• Supporting menu preparation and ensuring meals are varied and nutritious
• Working closely with the nursery team to ensure children's dietary needs are met

About You

We would love to hear from candidates who:

• Have previous experience within a nursery, school, care home, catering or similar kitchen environment
• Enjoy preparing healthy and nutritious food
• Have a good understanding of food hygiene and allergen awareness
• Are confident working independently and managing a kitchen
• Are reliable, organised and able to manage their time effectively
• Have a positive, friendly and caring approach

Previous nursery or school catering experience would be an advantage, however we are also happy to consider candidates with relevant catering or kitchen experience who would like to move into an Early Years environment.
