Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Gloucestershire?
Class People are currently looking for enthusiastic, experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary and secondary schools in Gloucestershire. We work closely with schools across Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester, the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas, offering opportunities for Teaching Assistants with a range of SEN experience.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and personally.
The Role
Depending on the school and pupil, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEN
- Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
- Helping pupils to engage with lessons and classroom activities
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working alongside teachers and other members of the school's support team
- Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Following individual support plans and contributing to the wider learning process
What We're Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you have previous experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
Experience in a school or SEN setting is highly desirable, although we also consider applicants with relevant experience from other educational, care or support environments.
We're particularly interested in Teaching Assistants who are:
- Experienced in supporting pupils with SEN
- Patient, understanding and approachable
- Confident managing challenging behaviour
- Reliable and adaptable
- Passionate about helping children achieve their potential
- Able to work effectively as part of a school team
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification are advantageous but are not always essential where you have strong relevant experience.
