Class People are currently recruiting for an SEN Learning Partner to join a welcoming school in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and wants to play an important role in helping a young person develop both academically and personally.

About the Role

As an SEN Learning Partner, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil with additional needs, working closely with the class teacher and wider school team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The role will involve providing 1:1 support, helping the pupil access the curriculum and encouraging them to develop greater confidence, independence and engagement in school life.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting the pupil to access learning and classroom activities
• Developing a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Helping manage barriers to learning and encouraging positive behaviour
• Supporting emotional regulation, confidence and independence
• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
• Following individual support plans and contributing to the pupil's progress
• Supporting the pupil both academically and socially

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting
• Patient, calm and consistent in their approach
• Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Understanding of additional needs and barriers to learning
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
• Reliable, approachable and committed

Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs would be advantageous, although the right attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
