Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Gloucestershire?
Class People are working with a growing number of specialist schools, SEN provisions and alternative education settings across Gloucestershire, and we are looking to speak with passionate teachers who want to make a genuine difference to children and young people with additional needs.
We have opportunities ranging from short and long-term supply and maternity cover through to temp-to-perm and permanent positions, allowing us to find something that genuinely suits your experience, availability and career goals.
The Role
Depending on the setting, you may be working with pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism / ASC
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
- Complex needs
- Communication and interaction needs
- ADHD
- Sensory needs
- Challenging behaviour and associated needs
You will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment, adapting teaching to meet individual needs and working closely with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, therapists and other professionals.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Hold QTS or QTLS
- Have experience teaching within SEN, SEMH or an alternative provision, or have a strong interest in moving into specialist education
- Can adapt lessons and teaching styles to meet individual learning needs
- Are confident building positive relationships with pupils who may find mainstream education challenging
- Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Are patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about inclusive education
Previous specialist SEN experience is highly desirable, but we are also keen to speak with mainstream teachers looking to transition into SEN who have the right approach and transferable experience.
