5 Early Years Teaching Techniques

This weeks Buddy’s Friday Five following on from Sarah's blog titled "Why is Early Childhood Education Important?" its five Early Years Teaching Techniques.

1. Integrate Technology
   Integrating technology means tapping into students’ interests and strengthening their technical skills, all while providing enriching learning opportunity

2. Symbol labelling and matching
   One way to promote everyday vocabulary is by having students verbally label common brands and symbols, translating from picture to word helps in language development.

3. Start a Garden 
   Whether you have an expansive outdoor space or just a nice ledge by a window, a garden can be an excellent way to teach kids about the natural world

4. Set Achievable Goals
   Involving children in the goal-setting process is an excellent way to encourage them to take ownership of their learning

5. Tailor activities to your students
   It can be easy to fall back on the teacher’s manual or default lessons, mixing it up can be a great way to engage younger students to keep them learning and developing
